I have found a Cruise Control Module on eBay that I think will work on my '95 540i. It came off a '94 525. My question is will the transmission make a difference? My car is manual. If the 525 was automatic, will they use the same module? There is a part number listed on the eBay item, but I can't get the real OEM site to show me the part number.

I know that on e36s, when people do a manual swap, most of the time they can use the same cruise control module but it wouldn't know that you stepped on the clutch and gun the engine with no load. I don't know if that is because the module are different or because they just don't connect the clutch switch. Sorry I don't have any more info.

Thanks. You've been a big help. If I can get it cheap enough, it will be worth the risk. If it doesn't work, I can just relist it on eBay.

I am reading up more and it turns out that with the E36, the two modules are different, might have different connectors too. Don't know anything about the E34 though. It might be better for you to see if you can find the CC module for your car.

I got the Real OEM site where I could view it and the part numbers are the same on both the '94 525 and the '95 540 regardless of which transmission, so I think I'll give it a try if I can get it cheap enough. Thanks for your research though and I'll keep you posted.
