August 2 -3, 2008 we will be hosting the "Port Townsend" drive, via "Chuck-a-Nut Dr." We can meet up at a specific time north of the I-90, and go from there. Here is the plan:
Drive I-5 to Bellingham, have lunch at Boundary Bay Brewery.
Head south along Chuck-a-nut Drive and head west on HWY 20 to Whidbey Island crossing from the mainland to the island across the Deception Pass bridge.
Travel south thru Coupeville to Keystone and catch the Keystone to Port Townsend Ferry visiting Fort Casey before boarding the ferry.
Board the ferry to Port Townsend stopping at Water Street Brewing or Port Townsend Brewing Co. or any of the other great spots for an evening meal.
While in Port Townsend visit many of the historic buildings and homes and consider staying at the Ann Starrett Mansion Victorian Boutique Hotel (featuring a cantilevered circular staircase) or any of the other unique B&Bs.
Heads home via HWY 101 around the peninsula or inside passage to Tacoma and north on I-5 and/or HWY 104 to Kingston and catch the Kingston-Edmonds Ferry.
RSVP if you can and will attend.
