I belong to a volunteer fire company, and yes we would do that if we had to. We've actually got behind a car parked in a fire zone and pushed it out of the way with one of our pumpers. I've also seen photos with a hose through a car that had a leak in it and filled the car with water. That's the reason why you don't park in front of hydrants and in fire zones.
