I have have new pads fitted front and rear with new indicators fitted. All was fine for 50 miles then the light came on. I took the car back and the fitter said he had problems getting the light to go out . He in the end turned the engine on and off 10time to reset the memory. It now lasts for 200 mile then comes on , and I repeat this and all fine for a while. Any thoughts on this

The cable has a retention problem. Most likely the cable is breaking or disconnecting from the pad or the sensor may be bad. It's a common error which seems to be worldwide. Unfortunately you just have to keep changing it and make sure your pads are in shape by physical inspections and screeling noise. Make sure ur dealer checks it everytime you send the car in for check ups as well.

it is recommended that the brake sensors be replaced when replacing the pads and or rotors. The are not very expense.

I have a feeling the mechanic just didn't put them in right.

Same here. When I got my sensors, the rear sonsor connector had to be changed a little bit, there was a tab of some sort I had to either push or pull (I don't remember at the moment it was some time ago). Maybe the mechanic didn't do that and the connector is not fully seated.
