CAM Sensor Fault

So, i come back from lunch today and my 'Check Engine' light comes on.
My mechanic runs diagnostics. . .'CAM Sesnor' Problem. . $200+ Labor &parts?!?1
Any more information regarding this sesnor I need to know?
Where is the cheapest? I noticed bavauto does not have i?!?!
Is it Dealer Item?!?!
