Why my tail light bulb keep blowing?

Hello,
I replaced my 525's tail light bulb yesterday.
However, right before, the bulb has blown
- yes, dash warning sign popped up again.

Actually, I bought a cheap bulb from Autozone.
Can it be critical for bulb blowing?
Or, do I need to use BMW OEM bulb?

Any comments and suggestions will be appreciated.

I once had the same problem as yours. The bulb burned due to the on and off effect. Check for loose wiring if not then proceed to inspect the bulb socket/connector. If the connection(metal plates) is not firm, it will caused the bulb to blink whenever there is vibration hence a blown bulb.

yeah I had the same problem when I first bought my 5-er. They replaced it at the dealer but it kept blowing out so they had to clean the connections and then it was no problemo!!!
